Pure-Flo® Identification System
In order to provide a more viable marking program commensurate with the expanding needs and validation requirements of the Pharmaceutical / Bioprocessing Industries, the Pure-FloSolutions Group is pleased to announce a new identification and marking program for the Pure-Flo Diaphragm valve product line. Beginning in July 2002 the Pure-Flo Diaphragm Valve product line will transition to a new identification system. The new identification system involves (3) primary components.
Direct Body Marking
The majority of Pure-Flo valve bodies will be marked directly on the valve body, typically on the bottom of the valve or underside of the bonnet flange. The use of separate, attached stainless steel tags will be eliminated, except for limited cases such as special marking requirements and fabrications that prohibit direct body marking. The marking will at the minimum contain the information depicted. Additional information such as customer Tag Number is available upon request at the time of valve order.
Note: Serial Number = ITT Order Number - Line # - Valve #

Pneumatic Actuator Tagging
Pneumatic actuators will be marked with a label indicating the following information; the original ITT Serial Number (Order# - Line # - Valve #), original valve/actuator size, actuator designation, and diaphragm type for which the ordered actuator was configured. A barcode 128 style barcode representing the ITT S/N is included for use by distribution or end user.

Receiving Tag
The receiving tag will contain valuable information associated with the valve identification as well as the order information process. Information provided includes customer order references, a complete figure number, as well as the corresponding description of all valve features. This receiving tag is designed to aid distribution and end user personnel in identifying the valve and order information quickly. It is suggested therefore, that this tag be retained after receipt to assist in future data retrieval.

ITT Pure Flo is excited about the increased functionality the new identification system provides for both the end user and distributor. The serialization of the valve body and actuator assembly allows for the traceability of each major component, even if the topworks is removed from the original assembly. With this system, ITT Pure-Flo will be able to easily identify the original valve assembly components. In the case of a post factory modification the valve assembly will be identifiable by the combination of the unique serial numbers provided on each assembly.
This identification system is all about providing real world solutions to real world issues. Just another step in our never ending mission of providing innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
